Kathari News, a new digital media organization that delivers timely, comprehensive and authoritative news and views on the global energy transition, is looking for journalists with experience in digital production to join our team as Content Editors and help us to grow into a 24/7 operation.

Reporting directly to the Editor-in-Chief, the Content Editors will:
- Monitor our steady stream of newswire content and select stories to feature on Kathari News.
- Prepare selected posts for publication through categorization, placement, reviewing photos, writing excerpts and adjusting headlines for a global audience.
- Collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief to implement strategies for audience growth and engagement, including by the use of SEO, analytics and social media.
- Adhere to our standards for accuracy, fairness, transparency, non-partisanship, editorial independence, the inclusion of diverse perspectives and putting our audience first.
Skills and experience:
- At least two years of experience in daily journalism, preferably at a digital-first publication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong command of English grammar, spelling and news-writing style (AP and/or CP).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with website production, SEO, analytics and newsletters is an asset.
- Experience reporting, writing or editing content about energy topics, particularly for a business audience.
Other details:
- These contract positions are 100 percent remote and can be based anywhere in the world.
- Content Editors would be expected to work scheduled shifts per week, which could include early mornings, evenings and weekends in North American time zones.
- The successful candidates would serve as independent contractors for e4 Strategies Inc., doing business as Kathari News.
