Ford sales rise 13.4% in August on SUV, with EVs and hybrids up

Ford Motor said on Thursday U.S. vehicle sales in August rose 13.4% to 182,985 units, helped by robust demand for its SUVs and pick-up trucks.

Sales of Ford’s electric vehicles rose 28.9%, while hybrid vehicle sales jumped nearly 50%.

Overall, U.S. new vehicle sales in August at a seasonally adjusted annual rate finished at around 15.13 million units, according to data released by Wards Intelligence on Wednesday.
