GAC Responds to the Government’s Announcement on Protecting Canadian Auto Workers

TORONTO (June 24, 2024) – Global Automakers of Canada supports the government’s announcement today of a consultation under the Canadian International Trade Tribunal on a potential response to unfair trading practices in the electric vehicle market.

Canada’s automotive industry has been a longstanding supporter of fair and rules-based trade policy. It’s important that the government of Canada provides a level playing field for the sector and we look forward to participating in the consultation process.
