Mitsubishi Electric to Establish Heat Pump Compressor Factory in the U.S.

TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO:6503) announced today that it will invest U.S.$ 143.5 million to retrofit a U.S.-based factory to make variable-speed compressors that are a key component of high-efficiency heat pumps. As part of Mitsubishi Electric US Holdings, Inc., the Maysville, Kentucky-based factory of Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Inc. currently manufactures and sells automotive electrical equipment.
