Focus on Bankside Yards

Bankside Yards describes itself as “the UK’s first major fossil fuel free mixed-use development”. All eight buildings in London’s South Bank area will be 100% electric and use air source heat pumps, the UK’s first on this scale for a mixed-use development. Large scale energy efficiency will employ “a low temperature 5th generation energy network across 5.5 acres and five different uses” to create unprecedented energy sharing benefits with subsequent energy efficiencies and savings. The entire development is designed to be net zero carbon neutral in operation, using electricity from renewable sources.
