Focus on Eastern Green Links

The Eastern Green Links are a series of new subsea (and/or underground) high transmission direct current (HVDC) electricity links between Scotland and England. Their role is to transfer the vast renewable power generated in the North of Scotland to demand centres in the South.

The 500km (311-mile) Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) electricity transmission project will stretch from Aberdeenshire to North Yorkshire.
