Focus on Vineyard Wind

Vineyard Wind is an offshore wind development 24 km (15 miles) off the coast of Massachusetts. Vineyard 1, currently under construction, is an 800MW farm with 62 GE Vernova Haliade-X wind turbines, each  capable of generating 13 MW of renewable electricity. The Vineyard Wind project is 50 % owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and 50% by Avangrid Renewables (part of Iberdrola Group). It is said to be the first commercial-scale offshore wind energy project in the United States, although there is some competition for that title.
